Re: DN watches Al Gore\'s movie and makes major life changes....
[ QUOTE ]
Science is wrong many times. Science is not always the truth. Science can not agree on this issue. Even if they did it wouldn't mean much. The Earth goes through cycles that are far larger than 100 years. Do a search on earth timeline. For huge amounts of time you need to break it down in millions of year piece. 100 years no pattern can be determined that has any value. [/ QUOTE ] If I remember the movie correctly, by drilling out ice core samples, you can collect climate data back a lot farther than 100 years. But I still think it's stupid to watch a documentary and take every single piece of information as 100% truth and immediately change your life because of it. |

I love NON US citizens commenting on our politics. Stay in canada and see how well you thrive.
You have a lot of worthless opinions Dan. Your approval of his propoganda film shows that you drink the Kool Aid of a party you can't even vote for. Stick to cards and get off your soapbox. |

[ QUOTE ] Why is it the U.S government's responsibility to fix the problem [/ QUOTE ] Well it isn't entirely our responsibility, but uh, we started it and are also one of the biggest roadblocks to fixing the problem. [/ QUOTE ] Actually, the biggest roadblocks are China and India, who will easily eclipse our greenhouse emissions in the next decade and couldn't care less about Kyoto and all that. |

[ QUOTE ]
The first thing I'm going to get rid of my cars, both the Toyota Tundra that I won at the WSOP in 2005, and the Lexus SC 430 that I've had for a while. Instead, I'm going to look into purchasing a hybrid car for me and my wife. [/ QUOTE ] Hey DN, Do the right thing and melt your old cars down and recycle the metal. Otherwise they will still be out there making greenhouse gases. |

Re: DN watches Al Gore\'s movie and makes major life changes....
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I find it amazing that the US Govt has managed to cast so much doubt over the impact we're having on the environment. I have the impression (possibly wrongly) that the majority of Americans believe there just isn't a problem. [/ QUOTE ] Americans do not care about global warming, they are too busy watching paris hilton on youtube. The US Govt. and the Oil Cartel have an incentive to dispute the global warming findings. They even tried to pay scientists to dispute the findings. While the rest of the world is working on shifting from the burning of fossil fuels to using nuclear power for mass destruction , the USA is going to continue burning coal and consuming massive amounts of oil.
