Re: *Greatest Rap Album of All-Time Nomination Thread*
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Oh no, someone mentioned a difference between rap and hip-hop. There goes the thread. [/ QUOTE ] I was gonna let it go and hope no one would respond to them. [/ QUOTE ] In all honesty, I never really cared whether people listed rap or hip hop. They fall under the same genre in my eyes. I was just trying to appease the guy who said it. [/ QUOTE ] Because for the sake of this disscusion, they really are the same thing? But yeah 15 choices would be good, would make the seeding all the better. |

Yes, for the sake of this discussion they are the same thing. I think it would be ridiculous to have to seperate "rap" albums from "hip hop" albums.

[ QUOTE ]
Lets get this party started [/ QUOTE ] (De La-3 Ft High and Rising) WAIT! Please take some filler off this list. THESE DO NOT BELONG: 2Pac- The Don Kiluminati, Outkast- Aquemini, Outkast- ATLiens Bone Thugs-N-Harmony- E 1999 Eternal 50 Cent- Get Rich or Die Trying, LL Cool J- Radio, The Game- The Documentary, Common- Be, Xzibit- Restless Many of these are fine albums, but don't deserve anything like a Best Ever nom. The problem with best album polls is that they end up with like 2pac vs 2pac rounds. Why not make a Best Individual Rapper poll? This means we can judge a rapper purely by content and skill over an entire career. For instance, I don't like any entire Jaz-Z record, but just by his hits he should be in the top 5 GOAT... Then you could have a Best Rap Group poll series as well...OR include say, Q-tip in the individual series? Just a thought...Also, check out Chris Rock's Top 25... HERE (WITH HIS NOTES) --GA |

Interesting and cool to see how many 2p2ers are stoked on Bro Ali. Out of all the people I know on the east coast only the hip hop junkies like him.
Is he getting big in other parts of the country? |

I'm gonna get nitty and pronounce both atmos, and especially J5 as hip hop not rap. [/ QUOTE ] This is really retarded and a gross misunderstanding of the definitions of hip-hop and rap. |
