There aren't many guys who can single-handedly win a NC.

Right. It's not like Texas has a great defense or anything that year.... oh wait.

I think Thorpe is a good guess for a lot of reasons.

Hornung it would be kind of silly-- fitting to be rated higher than the guy who should've got his Heisman though.

Doc Blanchard's name always seems to turn up when Glenn Davis does, but it seems a lot to have two guys from the same team.

VY had a good defense in Texas.
VY has a good defense in Tenessee.
VY is a better defensive football player than he is an offensive player. Although that is sort of like saying infinity +1 > infinity

Yeah, I guess it was mainly Texas' defense that beat USC 41-38.

I didn't see USC stopping Texas too much on 4th and 1.

This statement makes little sense in relation to my statement, but that's why I love you.

Texas had a better defense than USC. That's why they won the game. That's why they beat Ohio State. Vince Young is the most overrated person in college sports since Charlie Weis. He would make 3 huge mistakes then do 4 awesome plays to win games. Of course, I doubt this stops ESPN from propping him up to be the God among men that he is around here. He has been fortunate to be the leader on good TEAMS.
