Re: WPT Mirage Showdown thread

[ QUOTE ] David Williams really is a terrible poker player. He didn't get his money in good once and if you've seen him on UPC Cash Poker you know he's a bad cash game player too. [/ QUOTE ] you are incorrect, but keep basing your opinions of players on a few hands they played on tv... [/ QUOTE ] IMHO David Williams is VERY solid cash player, contrary to what you see in the WPT F/T shove-fests!! |

He was on at least a half dozen Cash Poker episodes and three High Stakes so far. |

Re: WPT Mirage Showdown thread
Shaniac, what should I base my opinion on? The porn he's in? I've watched him in 3 TV shows and he played badly in all 3.

[/ QUOTE ] Depends on what you consider getting your money in good. To me, if you're getting 2 to 1 pot odds and you're 35% to win the hand, you're getting your money in good. And with the lightning fast structure, you can't just sit and wait for favorable situations anyway. |

Re: WPT Mirage Showdown thread
He was absolutely awful on both Cash Poker and HSP. Maybe you guys are just trying to keep him in the game...

Well, it's official folks. The WPT is no longer watchable. Dags said it best the other night on HSP....'I've got 66, you have AK, lets shove all the money in pf and see who gets lucky and becomes the next tv superstar.' So bad I didnt even bother to watch the 2nd half of the show. [/ QUOTE ] Well, it's official folks. The WPT hasn't been watchable for years. So bad I didnt even bother to watch since season 1. |

Re: WPT Mirage Showdown thread
I haven't been watching WPT for years, but watched it last night when it was on. Sure Weiss played terrible, but Harry seemed like such a prick, I was glad to see him lose.

Re: WPT Mirage Showdown thread
[ QUOTE ]
do u think/know if the WPT addressed the issue that the blinds are too high in relation to the stacks?? it would be nice to see good post-flop poker rather than pressure forcing players to make hasty moves too early...i mean, tournies should have a lot of pressure, but not from the start imo... [/ QUOTE ] Lipscomb has attempted to address the blinds' issue. But it was caused other problems. The first tournament of season 7 lasted over 11 hours. Eventually there will need to be a real time clock. Else long TV finals will be too expensive to produce. |
