He then became a dual rate!

What is "dual rate?"

Part time dealer/part time floor?

A dealer at Foxwoods once fell asleep in the middle of a hand at the 75-150 game.

He then became a dual rate!

As a dual rate his biggest mistake was one time:

Player is playing 4-8 gives dealer a black($100) chip and asks for yellow($2) chips. Dealer properly calls floor over(brand new dealer)

Now Dual rate watches dealer bring out 12 and a half stacks of $2 chips, says "ok" and walks away.

Player finds a different floor and explains what happens.

He eventually got fired for accidentally bringing home one of the keysets that allows the opening and closing of table racks.

[/ QUOTE ]

The dealer had $500 in yellow in the rack? What there any room for any other chips?

The cards are clearly identifiable and the floor (correctly in my opinion) rules that he did not fold and the 2 seat gets his hand back.

Cards that hit the muck are dead. This player getting his hand back was the biggest mistake that was made in this hand. If I were the 9 seat I would fully expect that pot to be pushed to me.

Another believer in the magical muck.

Yep, plus he looks about to fall asleep at any moment. He must work another job I assume.

No, cards that hit the muck are not automatically dead. You can expect whatever, but you won't be pleased with the ruling of a competent floor here. Clearly identifiable cards can be extracted from the muck when that's the fairest thing to do.
