Re: Theory: Bluffing (can you pull it off at < NL 100???)
[ QUOTE ]
In my experience, they check J-x there like 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time they rarely bet so much. [/ QUOTE ] Dude, you play $50 NL, the play there is terrible. Just because THEY don't bet there doesn't mean the bet itself is terrible. [ QUOTE ] Gutshots, LDO. [/ QUOTE ] Gutshots do not make the board drawyheavy. |

Dude, you play $50 NL [/ QUOTE ] A minor issue, but I don't play 50 NL. I mentioned in the other thread that I'm short-rolled at FT. |

Re: Theory: Bluffing (can you pull it off at < NL 100???)
I think bluffing AI on the river, is something that is very rarely needed. I think the proper bet sizing is a better bluff. I have been called down less with a bluff bet of slightly larger then pot then AI.
I think this is more becuase I really dont waste my time bluffing donks, I tend to bluff only solid players and the AI tends to show as weak in most cases(unless I did show and overbet on the river with a strong hand to said villian in an earlier hand). As far as when to bluff I look at opportunities where the hand was played out to be easy for me to represent a made hand. I don't bluff on a 4xbb preflop raise on the river often, because most times when representing a made hand its gonna have to be a set and most players at these stakes are going to look you up even the solid ones if they are holding TPGK, OP to the board etc. I look to bluff w/position on a board that holds scare card outs and I am able to represent that hand if and when it hits on the river, multiple made hands even better. both str8s, flushes and trips (preferably top pair on board 9's or lower that pair). As it pertains to the trips I prefer to use a 2 str bluff to take this down (reraise on turn, AI on river). Now of course this is all action/villian dependent. The made hand need to coorelate to the board and the action on previous streets to be a profitable play. |
