Also, at the risk of my submissions skirting dangerously close to "comfort foods", I really, REALLY enjoy a well-made meatloaf.

Fine... I like Red Lobster. Especially their free butter biscuits.

Those biscuits are one of very few edible items that Red Lobster serves.

how does everyone rank the following? (I am putting it in my Best to Worst)

Chilis
Fridays
99
Applebees

Outback rules, but Bugaboo Creek is very pretty close.

I'm not sure where hot fudge sundaes fall into this spectrum, but even a medium quality combination of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, and whipped cream is amazing. I had one delivered to my room at Bellagio 2 weeks ago, and that was like the best thing ever. definitely not a low brow experience.

I'm going to add to this list

Never been to (or heard of) 99, but I'd put the rest in the same order.

The thing about those places is they're designed to serve the most standard, inoffensive food possible, so as long as you don't go in expecting some culinary masterpiece it's near-impossible to come out thinking "man, that sucked."

Breaking Low Brow News! - IHOP is going to buy out Applebees. Don't ask me how this is going to work. I've always had good experiences at Applebees. IHOP is pretty much an over priced pile of doggy doo-doo every time I go there. I would always choose a Denny's over an IHOP.
