I raise to 18,000 when the action hits me the first time.

yeh my real hope was to see the flop and then get away if say an A or K fell but he put me to the all in test and I failed. I won't make the mistake again as It happened the flop came with a Q so had I made the call I was chip leader [/ QUOTE ] Dude, don't worry about the results. If you learnt anything from this thread, you're a little better off than you were pre-post. But, yeah, flatcalling QQ is leaky with a short-middle stack. Especially if you're not going to call a raise/shove. Open raise, call, LP/last to act shoves, you can be sure his range is wider than KK+ here and he wants one of you to race him. You never told him you had QQ by your actions, whereas if you raised... So, raise to get it HU anyway and go broke if you lose. |

No need to push with the QQ v utg raiser the first time but you need to define the hand with a reraise. Save some bullets to fire on the flop to move the AK off his hand when no A or K hits. Now once you flat called and then a move as been made and called QQ may not be the best hand. Not a bad laydown as you are at best in a flip for all your chips.
