I remember on one of my first poker trips at Foxwoods a few years ago, Men was collecting handfuls of cash for orphaned children in Vietnam or something. People seemed more than willing to hand it over. It was also during that trip that someone claimed with a straight face that Men enjoys good luck and good karma because he makes donations to Buddhist temples in his homeland.

To the person who claimed Men stole chips from a Dutch pro at WSOP 2006: Story?

[/ QUOTE ]

Story has been posted on one or two Dutch poker fora ( in Dutch )

Short version: Men shortchanged the dutch pro in an all-in pot. ( $2k PLH event, about 25% of chips held back )

I'll notify the dutch player of this thread, maybe he'll tell the full story himself.

lol.

I would generally not want to applaud giving grief to a celebrity, but if the candy story is accurate ... good for you.... especially so also if you were talking to your friend and he was trying to hustle her into a game.

I can't hate on Men for having a refugee mentality and doing whatever it takes to win. This is poker and, like it or not, cheating has always been a big part of the game. Even if MTM uses some dishonest tactics to win, think of all the players he's supported through his tutelage, not to mention his charitable donations.

Men is like a poker "Godfather", you can expect corrupt practices from his "family". I like this concept. Plus, he gets drunk during tournaments.

Earlier in the day, Men's daughter was going around from table to table selling $1 candy bars, supposedly for her sister's school, but more likely Men taught her how to sell candy bars and now expects 10% of her candy bar sales for life and her sister is a half-sister at best.

An hour or so later I'm talking to a friend and Men is trying to get her to play in a high limit game. I say to Men, "Hey, that was clever of you to have your daughter sell candy bars to replenish your bankroll. You'll be robusto in no time!"

Men proceeds to unleash a tirade of f-bombs and m-f bombs the gist of which is that young punks (me) shouldn't talk to royalty such as himself.

Men turns away and I add, "I guess you could always cash in some of those tournament chips in your bedroom."

NH,

After Men started yelling at me i would have walked right up to him and grabbed that nasty hair growing out of his face and then quickly proceed to jumped rope with it.
