Re: How much are sports worth to you
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] im an aussie, but i dont watch any american sports, nor do most aussies. they usually follow rugby league or cricket. i only follow f1 and various other motorsports. [/ QUOTE ] Then you're a fake Aussie. [/ QUOTE ] I dont think hes a fake aussie. Just a petrol head. But nobody likes Rugby League. (Except for Origin) Im also an Aussie. Im a big time sports head. To never watch footy or cricket again would cost plenty. Maybe 2 million. Theres no amount of money you could pay me to never play cricket again. |

Re: How much are sports worth to you
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] $10M at least. [/ QUOTE ] This just seems absurd. I'm a huge NFL, college football and college basketball fan and love watching games and highlights and stuff, but I'm pretty sure I'd part with them for like $100k. I could entertain myself in plenty of other ways with that money. [/ QUOTE ] you are not a HUGE fan at all then. I'm not sure how much for me...it would definitely have to be enough that I could party it up all day long and have fun without sports- kinda live like Vince in Entourage. A million wouldn't be enough...I'd buy a nice house and furnish it and a nice car and put some in savings, but I wouldn't have enough left over to live like a rock star, and then life would suck without sports. I'd say $3 million then I guess. |

Re: How much are sports worth to you
Is running and going to work out in the gym considered a sport? If so, then no amount of money because health > $$$$. If not, then the toughest part would be forgoing Super Bowl parties and kid's sports. Probably $3 million now and even less once my kids grow up.

Re: How much are sports worth to you
It'd be probally 5 million plus. I don't know what I'd do all day. I love Poker and all (is poker a sport?), but I don't know what I'd do with all my free time.
I think some Euro Futbol fans might be more hardcore than some Americans but I think a lot of Americans would cost a lot of money to quit watching. |

Re: How much are sports worth to you
I don't think I'd give them up for any amount. I figure that I'll be able to make as much money as I need from poker within the next few years, and as the saying goes, "money only matters when you don't have it".

Money can't buy everything - this is one of them for me.

Re: How much are sports worth to you
This is up there with the "How much would I have to pay you to take it in the pooper?" The only way that is happening, is if I'm hitting the $1 Billion mark in which case I could help too many people in the world to not take the opportunity. Although, with sports out of my life I wouldn't kill myself... pooper, maybe so.

Re: How much are sports worth to you
interesting question.
i can't see giving it up. i certainly hope there's a period of my life where i follow sports much less than i do now, but maintaining at least a passing interest would be necessary. |

Re: How much are sports worth to you
The can't watch your kids play kind of ruins it.
If it was just giving up watching professional sports/college sports, I'd probably do it for around $10k - maybe less. I just enjoy being together with friends for the bigger games (and I'd miss March Madness a bit) Oh, and mocking cubs fans. |
