Can't they just make a new surface that is in the middle of clay and grass? This method was totally unair for Federer.

I thought clay was more intermediate between hardcourt and grass, not hardcourt between clay and grass. But I'm not a tennis player.

i think it would be better to have the court 1/2 and 1/2 the other way.

Hello, twisted ankles.

The article linked only mentioned the final score, but it didn't break it down between how many games either player won on each surface. I'm curious to know if Nadal's edge on clay had a bigger impact than Federer's advantage on grass, or if Nadal just happened to play well on grass too.

lol i have only played tennis a few times. Never on grass. I never thought about the twisted ankle thing.

pj,

Whoever is on clay has a huge edge in this match. I wouldn't be shocked at all if Federer on grass was beaten by many different people playing the whole match on clay.

Sure, Jennifer Capriati used to do it all the time, regardless of the court surface.
