I'm curious to know if Nadal's edge on clay had a bigger impact than Federer's advantage on grass, or if Nadal just happened to play well on grass too.

Whoever is on clay has a huge edge in this match. I wouldn't be shocked at all if Federer on grass was beaten by many different people playing the whole match on clay.
