CR and Stox are both excellent if you plan on playing a lot of poker and really want to improve. It's a fraction of a buy-in to most players who would be interested.

Also, you can learn a ton from the higher limit videos even if those limits play a lot differently than your own.

Still deciding, but nice timing on the thread as I was planning on arranging a sub to one of them this week.

Are videos on either site downloadable? I like to watch this type of vid (2+2 vids so far) while traveling and it would be huge if they were.

both stoxpoker and CR videos are downloadable, you do need to verify the videos online but once verify you can travel and view without an internet connection.

How often does Stoxpoker make new videos?

[/ QUOTE ]

for the first year of its existence about 1.5 per week, in the past two months about 4 per week and in the past week about 12. We plan on averaging at least 4 a week going forward.

I enjoy my CR membership, however for some reason when I filter for full ring games, nada comes up when I used to find vids all the time.

I subscribed to Stoxpoker for about a year some time back and did not renew, mainly due to a lack of content updates. The videos they did have were great, and at the time I was a limit player and it was (is?), by far, the best source for limit material. The problem was there just weren't many videos being made. It's good to hear that things have changed. I'll have to check them out again.

It was pretty much the same story with Card Runners. I was a member and just about to cancel my subscription until they announced the 6 videos / week - and it's been great since -- lots of videos of generally very high quality, and it's always great watch/learning from aba, cts, etc.. On that note, some of the Card Runners videos also have at least as much entertainment value as educational value. I mean I'm probably not [yet] going to really be applying much I learn from CTS playing heads up at 5k against other great players, but it sure is alot of fun watching it.

Hi.

Im glad this thread generated some good discussion. I guess from what I can gather there isn't really much in it either way so I might just toss a coin.

Thanks for all the help and contributions so far.
