[ QUOTE ]
Newsflash, people get popped for doing lots of things that ultimately aren't illegal. [/ QUOTE ] "Lot's of people" do not get arrested for things that are not illegal. They might get arrested for suspicion of an illegal activity, but not solely "for things that are not illegal." Links and sources please, otherwise please troll your paranoia elsewhere. |

to make 200k, 300k + + + + + etc in online poker, you have to be smart as [censored] [/ QUOTE ] I wonder how true this is. Do you think it is possible for an averagely intelligent person, who is determined and very hard working, to be able to eventually beat 10/20 NLHE and above? What about 50/100 and higher? |

I don't think you need to be an Einstein to be a tremendously profitable poker player. Obv you can't be a moron, the luckbox only works for so long, but there are plenty brilliant people who don't have other skill sets to make them good poker players and there is a marginal advantage at some intelligence of X that it no longer matters. I think average intelligence + hard work and devotion to the game can very much translate to profits at all levels.

10/20 yes, there are still plenty of bad players.
50/100 prolly requires too much adjustment for an "average" intelligence to beat regularly. |

I'm really glad I asked this question because I've learned a great deal from the replies and only been called a paranoid troll once or so lol...
In case I wasn't clear, I'm happy for the young successful players and wish them nothing but continued success. I was interested in the mechanics of the whole thing and I now understand a great deal more about that and about the 2+2 connection and how valuable that can be. Regarding the legal side, I will provide at least one link: http://casinogambling.about.com/b/a/256597.htm Those guys probably didn't expect to be arrested. Yes, that's different because they are involved in sports betting but my point is at least somewhat valid and I'm not just randomly saying the government is evil or anything. Fact is the US has taken direct action against online gambling in the last few months. If you want to stick your head in the sand and refuse to notice what is going on, ok then. Feel free to call me all the names you like. I won't get into an argument about how law enforcement and/or the government works - I'm done replying regarding that aspect. Thanks a TON for all the informative replies here! I'm very glad to be a part of such a great, helpful group of poeple. |

To think you are going to be arrested for something that is not illegal, is being paranoid, no matter how you interpreted my response.
The link you provided involves illegal activity. Try again |
