Re: Fire turn?
[ QUOTE ]
why doubt we're getting raised? [/ QUOTE ] you think hoss is not raising the flop with a pair with that moron in the pot who may now have to put in 2 bets on the flop with a hand like A5??? |

Re: Fire turn?
honestly i believe hoss could call this flop with almost any pair or no pair, and still jack it up on the turn

Re: Fire turn?
I think Hoss can definitely raise here, with or without a pair. The BB, really should almost never be raising however.
I don't think that is a compelling enough factor not to bet though. I don't think anyone at these stakes is thinking "oh no, I MIGHT get raised, let me give up my fold equity and c/c". Obviously there are times when betting doesnt work out as hero would like it. But overall, IMO, betting will be the best play by a significant margin. |

Re: Fire turn?
[ QUOTE ]
if he doesn't have anything, yes. and i think if he pops this turn he is likely to be FOS. [/ QUOTE ] If he has nothing, then our hand is good and we can call down... while he might fold a 6 outer to us, he probably is very unlikely to fold a better hand. I don't know Hoss, but know that he's a very good player and is tilting, so thats not the type of guy to 3bt bluff here. And we have outs, so why would we want to put more $$ in here if he raises us on the turn? And we'd allow him to cap w/ anythying good. Also, like you I haven't played near this high, or against HOss, but just from the fact that he's a very good player, I think you are waaaay off that he won't ever just call the flop w/ a pair. Would you ALWAYS, raise there w/ any pair? |

Re: Fire turn?
I can't really explain why but I don't think I would bet the turn.
And I do think a lot of you are underestimating the frequency at least one of these two do have a pair on the flop. |

Re: Fire turn?
[ QUOTE ]
with Q-high? you really doing that? [/ QUOTE ] Well, I mean you gotta call the turn, and then if its HU, and its a blankish river, and I think he's bluffing enough then yeah, I'd call the river. And, I just don't think he's folding any pair too often here, so maybe a 3bet could get him to fold K high, thats probably the only way the bluff would work... also, I strongly believe, that somebody in Hoss' spot ALWAYS raising that flop w/ any pair, and being a very good player are, in fact mutually exclusive... so, since I believe Hoss is very good, that pairs are definately part of his range. |
