This isn't cashier related but one time a group of 5 or 6 of us went to this IHOP. Somebody ordered pancakes but they brought waffles so that guy got his meal free. The next day we all go back - same waitress - so everyone orders pancakes. Everyone receives waffles. Hooray free food.

A few weeks ago I went to KFC and this happens.

(pull up to drive-thru)

Me: Can I get a 3-strip meal with mash potatoes and wedges as my sides. and oh can i get the strips buffalo style.

Him: You're supposed to ask for that first.

Me: huh?

Him: You are supposed to say you want buffalo style strips.

Me: Oh, ok. I'm sorry. Can you change it?

Him: Well, It's already in the system.

Me: Umm..

Him: Fine! I'll do it manually.

I drive up, pay, get food, go home. I open the box and find that there is one standard strip(4-6 inches) and two "nuggets" which clearly were once a single strip that he just ripped in half.

I wanted to go back and kill him. Instead I just wrote a letter to KFC.

They sent an apology and a $25 gidt cert., but I can't get change on it. So now I'm waiting for an occasion when I can buy $25 worth of KFC.

noah, can you explain what this means to people who don't have a kfc in their town?

edit: this is obv a huge brag seeing as I love kfc and getting 25$ in free food sounds pretty sweet.

I wanted three strips of chicken (fried chicken tenders). You can get them plain or with sauces on them. I wanted buffalo (hot sauce). Apparently I didn't order correctly and he didn't want to change it. Then when I got home I got 1 full strip and 2 half-strips instead of the 3 strips. Obviously the guy was sticking it to me. So I wrote KFC a letter complaining and got free monies.

The manager has a right to manage the restaurant however he wants! Screw you guys for demanding the price you were told. Good for the manager for having the balls to stand up to a customer for once.

Should have called Burger King ahead of time to make sure they were actually going to sell you the meal at that price. It's your fault.

That's an awesome guids impression. Now do Blarg!

Having been a cashier for 5 years, my mind boggles at what kind of system people like this are using where simple functions like voiding out an entry don't exist.

everytime I get taco bell they put sour cream on my chalupas. i cant eat sour cream, its just so disgusting, at first I would ask like a normal person (no sour cream pls), but after like 4 times there was still sour cream, so then I ramped it up and would ask excessively for no sour cream, still....sour cream (I am assuming they did it on purpose because of how many times I was asking), so finally one day I got fed up, after getting home and having like extra sour cream everywhere and asking about a million times for no sour cream. I went back, inside this time, demanded my money back, and literally threw my whole order like a baseball at the douche bags making the food. I really flipped out, and normally irl, I have never ever lose my temper at people like that, but I completely freaked.

I don't know what system they use right now, but tbh when I worked at mc'dicks in high school it was a pain in the ass and involved a manager to void things.
