Re: 2nd set on co-ordinated board - My best line deepstacked???
Instead of looking at your owns cards and the board, how about for one moment consider the flop actions from both a positional and bet size point of view of the villain.
With middle set I would almost always be getting in at these limits, but on this occasion the villain will roll top set and we will have one out. So to everyone who says "we crush 99% of his range" please tell me what hand he would possible play in this manner. |

Re: 2nd set on co-ordinated board - My best line deepstacked???
Hey all - thought i'd check in on this thread...
Results are below, i'm glad that everyone feels its a no-brain shove as thats what I did (as i said above, the converter made a mistake saying i folded) As i still cannot get it right, i have placed the text here from my decision on flop onwards... Hero goes all-in for $86.15. Villian calls. Turn (board: Ad 2s 4d 3c): (no action in this round) River (board: Ad 2s 4d 3c Qd): (no action in this round) Showdown: Hero shows 4c 4h. Hero has 4c 4h Ad 4d Qd: three fours. Villian shows As Ac. Villian has As Ac Ad 4d Qd: three aces. Hand #46647058-8964 Summary: $3 is raked from a pot of $181.30. $.50 jackpot contribution is raked. Villian wins $177.80 with three aces. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I guess I'm being too results orientated, but the way the hand played out on the flop, with myself checkraising the cutoff, and then the villian (who at 38 and 25 clearly knows what he is doing btw) min checkraising me, it did seem utterly monsterous. Anyway, back to the tables!!! Thanks to all that posted, in particular WC3V's thoughts were interesting!! Cheers!! |

Re: 2nd set on co-ordinated board - My best line deepstacked???
You make a CR of <60% of pot 175+ bb deep and then fold to a min raise.
I love comedy as much as the next guy, but this is a classic. CR to $12 or more. He'll still raise you. Pot will be larger. You can either just push now or CR ai on turn. edit: didn't grunch and just saw results. Cooler. Get it all in next time too. |

it's awesome, that players actually try to make those superstar-laydowns. i would like to know if someone ever folded like bottom set against me or something like that. whoever advocated folding here is going to be a professional poker player soon [/ QUOTE ] I am actually very curious about how a few of the high stakes online pro's think about this hand because I think they are way less obsessed with making any big laydowns... I mean ofcourse fold when necessary but folding too much makes you exploitable for bluffs and these guys pick on that. Besides, I also would puke in this case because my alarmbell would go "AA Alert" but I don't know if I'd throw it away just there. Since everybody is advocating he know what he is doing he might do the same thing with a good (combo) draw here or any pair that goes along with a flush draw figuring at this board he probably got loads of outs... So, I am not sure many people would actually throw it away here and I think that at higher levels this laydown isn't going to be very profitable either because there the range is always a bit wider than just AA... |

[/ QUOTE ] It's not like the board is monotone with three to a straight. There is an ace and a flush draw. We have a set. I'm happy playing this for 175bb or 250bb. |

Calling extracts the most when you are ahead, which you need b/c you are 100% losing all of it when behind. |

Earlier I said either CR more on flop and push or stack a donk on turn. I prob like CR AI on turn better. |
