If they had the 2 weeks before the Bowl he would maybe make it back but they play the Pats before the Bowl, that sucks.

Indy Star says season likely over

Not really news. Article said the exact same thing that the Clayton article did, namely that some source said Freeney will need surgery.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think we should stop any threads with speculative info, and stop discussing what may happen/what is likely to happen/what could happen in the future. this forum will be much better if we all stick to talking about what has already happened, we'll have less disagreements that way

this forum would be much better if we didn't link to articles that have the exact same info as the previous linked article. or better yet, read the both articles and not just the headline.

you have no idea if the source for the ESPN article was the same as the source for the Indy Star article. in fact the Indy Star article's tone is much more serious, switching from "could be lost for season" to "is probably lost for season". I would say there's a good chance it's a different source, or the source shared different information.

gg Colts, we'll always wonder what could have been.

[/ QUOTE ]

even with Freeney, the Colts are a TD dog @ NE

[/ QUOTE ]

They closed at about 5.5 point dogs at home. In Foxboro in January I've got to guess the line would be like 12.5 or so.

[/ QUOTE ]

but in hindsight, I think 5.5 was too high, 2 or 3 was closer to right. I think the line would be about 9, but that's just a newb guess

[/ QUOTE ]

That's why they have betting I guess. Because after the game I thought to myself that NE covers 5.5 about 75% of the time.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think a fully healthy Colts in New England would be about a TD dog.

Freeney still counts, the Colts get no relief from moving him to IR

b/c players on the IR still are paid, still count against the cap..I think it prevents gamemanship of the cap.

now, you do gain a roster spot b/c of this, but whatever you pay that new guy will also count against the cap. it typically doesn't matter much, a replacement type guy will be paid short money.
