Yes, but when viewing a movie, it takes my eyes away from the picture, and is distracting and stupid and gay.

I think it does. I see a lot of people moving their lips when reading. Not definitive, but still ... I think this might be part of why people can go out to lunch solo and just stare into space for an hour, day after day. Being bored out of their minds is much easier than the struggle of, uh, reading.
