Re: Moving up to highstakes
[ QUOTE ]
4PTBB/100 is nothing, what about that makes you think you can move up to high stakes!?!? My entire month not a single day was under 10PTBB/100 at 2/4 and I have not even considered moving up to high stakes. [/ QUOTE ] good luck sustaining that |

Re: Moving up to highstakes
wow some of this advice is just awful
the difference between 10/20 and lower limits is on 10/20 people are VERY GOOD postflop and its a LOT harder to tilt them. 5/10 is so easy to tilt people and everyone is pretty awful/weak/readable postflop. |

Re: Moving up to highstakes
lol I didn't mean I won every single day.. when I'm down in a session I take short naps(not full, 8hour sleep) and get up and grind my way back until I'm in the black even if it crosses over 2 days.. so in my mind that's still the same day lol.

[/ QUOTE ] Or another way of putting it is, the LAG style of annoying small raises to tilt opponents into making a stand with you on your big hands works well in SSNL and MSNL, but HSNL guys would simply not get involved with you. They are a lot more patient and know what they're doing once the money's in. |

Re: Moving up to highstakes
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] i honestly can't believe people would pay that much to get coached. if you aren't a winning player it seems like it'd be very easy to just go over stats and HH's and figure out what you're doing wrong and fix it. [/ QUOTE ] agreed, if people were just a little smarter I think everyone could be a winning player [/ QUOTE ] i understand what you're saying. what i meant was that i find it hard to believe that people say, "wow i'm just not winning and i can't figure out what i'm doing wrong, i should go hire a poker coach (lol) for 500/hr and get this straightened out". and then, they get coached and they automatically turn into a winning player. maybe it happens more than i think, idk i could easily be wrong. i guess i'm biased cause i've never really had a problem winning consistently and even if i did i wouldn't potentially waste even more money on a coach. |

Re: Moving up to highstakes
Paying $300-500 an hour for a good coach seems a lot of money, but think of how many $300+ pots you'll be involved in over the next month? How many of them you'll lose? How many you'll misplay? If paying a guy $300 for just one hour will cut down your misplayed big pots by just 1, that's already your money back.
That's why a good, reputable coach whom many players can recommend, is worth the money. |

10/20 regulars will make you wanna kill yourself.
9-tabling 2/4 is just something to do while you're watching Seinfeld. There's your difference. |
