War on Terror: This is mostly about surrounding yourself with the right advisers. I suspect that a Cabinet formed by Sen. Clinton will contain many of the figures we saw in her Husband's Administration, which fought terrorism the right way IMO

[/ QUOTE ]

Ignoring it is fighting it the right way? Treating it as a law enforcement issue is fighting it the right way? Building walls between agencies that ensure there is no ability to "connect the dots" is fighting it the right way?

I think there's a few issues that Clinton would do well on:

Social Security
Social spending/welfare
Health Care
War on Terror excluding Iraq
Picking Supreme Court Justices

You have way too much money and it's about time you shared more of it for the common good.

She's Bill's wife. That's her main appeal. During the Clinton administration the economy did well, better fiscal discipline, welfare reform, etc. Although a Republican led Congress contributed as well, Bill arguably gets most of the credit. With her you're getting 8 more years of a Clinton and Bill will be in the Whitehouse to provide guidance.

There's nothing really noteworthy about her other than that. I have my doubts as to whether she'd be a Senator if she wasn't associated with an ex president that was/is a political force.

One of the main criticisms of her is that she's cold and calculating, though admittedly smart. Not only does this tend to suggest that she will try to appease the center, it suggests that she won't do anything crazy.

For me personally, I put a lot of stock in how a candidate runs a campaign. If the campaign appears to run smoothly and efficiently, as hers does, it makes me believe that the candidate is a competent manager. For the same reason, I hold it against McCain that his campaign reportedly ran out of money fast, as that seems to reflect poor management skills.

Repub led congress contributed a lot. This put government in deadlock, one of the best situations available.

If only the democrats were reasonable opposition leaders we could have a similar situation now.

Bill's tenure appears fiscally responsible, but what happened to that social security fund Americans were supposed to inherit?

She represents the last best hope for a conservative Republican party 5 years from now. If the Republicans insist on building their house founded upon Rudy then I say burn it down, vote for Hillary.

I could probably say the same about every other candidate.

Reasons I support Hillary:
More protection for the environment.
Some form of Universal Health care.
Lower taxes for the middle class.
More emphasis on alternative and renewable energy.
Increased fuel efficiency by car makers.
Repeal of some tax breaks for big oil and the rich.
More funds for stem cell research.
Leave social security in a lock-box.
Maybe the appointment of pro-choice Supreme Court Justices.
Support for reasonable gun control.
Believe it or not, she will continue the War on Terror.

I numbered your issues so that I could address them individually.

1: GREAT!! lets add lower taxes for everyone and PROOF that it will happen and maybe I will get on board

2: Market is working on this and it will happen better and faster if the guvment stays OUT. ( see also ethanol boondoggle)

3: same answer as #2

4: this is the same as saying tax increase for everyone. Companies don't pay taxes they just shift the burden to the consumer.

5: similar answer as #2 There should be absolutely no barriers to stem cell research. It is a potential $$$$ bonanza we don't need the government to pay for it.

6: while we are at it can I get a key to my own lockbox? Can I have a say in how my money is spent for my future? Or do I just piss into the wind and hope I don't get sprayed?

7: Meh ... true ethical justices who can actually read the constitution would uphold an abortion right, it may not be Roe due to technical legal reasons but I don't think that its something to fear. Its just a scare tactic used by the 2 sides to make them seem different to the base.

8: LOL .. we have more laws on the books now than you can shake 1000 sticks at. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Guns don't make you unsafe, the war on drugs and a government out of control do.

9: GREAT .. more entangling alliances and rampant spending to achieve nothing but bigger government.

Sounds more like nine reasons to hope she dies in a grease fire to me.

pretty much my thoughts.... but to think Hillary would cut taxes for anyone is laughable, rich, poor or middle class.

And there is no Soc Sec lockbox, so I fail to understand how she will keep it in something that does not exist.
