Usually I get the double. I have to be really hungry to get the triple. IMO the double has a better meat vs. other stuff flavor ratio anyway. Triple can taste a little meat-heavy.

Plus if u ask nicely they will make the triple whopper a quad.

I had always assumed that "Double Quarter Pounder" meant two patties having a total weight of .5 pounds (.25 per patty). However, I certainly wouldn't be surprised if MacDonalds just meant a double burger equaling .25 pounds total (1/8 pound per patty). That would be some slick marketing.
