Re: NFL- GB Packers
the ESPN reason for moving Indy to #3 is actually reasonable - it's not a rating of who might be or could be the best, it's a measure of what's going on right now.
if Indy had to play Dallas tomorrow, I dunno, it's close I guess. If Indy is somewhat healthier, Indy is better. losing Freeney for the year is significant really only wrt to a potential Patriots game - the Colts would still be better than anyone else imo (assuming Harrison, Clark, et al come back) |

Re: NFL- GB Packers
It also has a lot to do with Dallas. The Cowboys are really, really, really [censored] good. Right now, with injuries, Dallas>Indy, so it's not unreasonable to have Dallas #2. Even at 100% health the gap is small.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that areinitz is a Vikings fan.

Re: NFL- GB Packers
beatpaths.com has had them highly ranked for several weeks. The rankings for this week haven't been posted yet, but I think they will be 2nd.

Re: NFL- GB Packers
Well, hopefully the voters can get the polls straightened out so that the correct teams go to BCS bowls.
EDIT: I don't feel the Packers are "underrated." They are the 2nd best team in the NFC. Now that Indy has lost two in a row (although injuries played a major part on Sunday night), I could see GB being anywhere from #3 ahead of Indy and Pitt, to #5 behind them. I wouldn't argue with GB being slotted at 3, 4, or 5, as they have a better record than those other two teams, but those other two have also lost to New England, which almost doesn't count at this point. |

Re: NFL- GB Packers
[ QUOTE ]
Are people really that quick to place Indy below Dal? A couple weeks ago this would be laughable. But now a massively unhealthy Indy loses a hard fought battle vs the Pats and has a bad game vs SD we are ready to demote them to possibly 3rd place? In my mind there is no question they are the 2nd best team in the league. [/ QUOTE ] I take back this post seeing as we are considering injuries and all. The loss of Freeney is going to hurt them soo much imo. He was getting a hell of a lot of pressure on Brady in Week 9. |
