I played on a fully automated table at winstar and thought it was great. Reduced rake, more hands per hour, no mistakes, and didn't have to tip the dealer.

No toke = less effective rake

I called PokerTek a few months ago to get on information packet, with an eye toward opening up a small card room in my area. Totally got the brush-off. Oh well.

I did, however, find out that the tables can only deal hold'em & Omaha. No 7-stud varient games at all. And I'm not entirely sure they could handle Omaha/8.

That's kind of a drag, since most of the old timers in my area still play 7-stud.

Not to steal phydaux's thunder, I interpret that effectively less rake, not that the rake taken is ineffective.

If you're a computer or math geek, less (effective rake), not (less effective) rake.

Sorry, I have no desire to be Grammar Police. I was just trying to help Sly Selea. I think he probably interpreted that as the rake being less effective.

Thank you, fellahs. Both explanations clarified things immensly, and yeah, that makes sense.

Guy working floor today said they were receiving the "new upgrade" that would allow them to deal mixed games, as well as horse, if desired. Beginning of September, he said.
