Was this a limit game? LOL. If you think villain's range is wide pf then I reraise AI since any decent reraise gets you pot committed. Or you can call pre and post flop and see what villain does on the turn. On the turn, it comes down to a read, will villain bet small for value, a blocking bet, or as a bluff. Then you can go from there. I don't see how the 3 changed anything.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (5 handed) internettexasholdem.com

SB (t3620)
Hero (t2430)
UTG (t1987)
MP (t3998)
Button (t1465)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
3 folds, SB raises to t300, Hero calls t150.

Flop: (t600) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets t300, Hero raises to t600, SB calls t300.

Turn: (t1800) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets t600, Hero folds.

Final Pot: t2400

So I call with the 8s, should I have raised pre? I hit a flop that looks pretty good minraise to try and show strengh and then he bets the turn hard. After he called the minraise and the 3 comes on the turn I was hoping he would check and then I would push. Help!!

I like shoving preflop here.

450 in the middle, SB vs. BB and you only have 2400? Would you shove at 150/300 blinds from the SB with 88?

tru dat

Minraise to show strength?

He bet the turn hard?

Things don't sound right.

What were you hoping to do with the minraise on the flop? You're not really folding much. On the turn if he's behind his possible outs are a 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,Tc,J,Q,K,A. You can't really afford to play around with 600 chips like this at this point.

Id shove close to 100% sb-bb with 2400 if blinds were 150/300. 16bbs isnt that much I should have shoved.

Yeah obv the situation isn't exactly the same...but it's often handy to treat the $$ in the middle as if you're in a higher blind structure already and then see if pushing with your stack size makes sense. Here it obv obv does. This type of situation was always most common for me at the 25/50 or 50/100 levels when I played STTs.

I think it's in the process of being created, but I may be wrong.
