Re: Dating: If you\'re short, you better make $$$$$$$
Fluff,
I bet it's pretty easy to maintain a sunny outlook on life for a long, long time, when you're a stunningly beautiful redhead from San Diego, who comes from a lot of money, and has a rich young baller for a boyfriend. |

Re: Dating: If you\'re short, you better make $$$$$$$
Anacardo,
God knows that happiness in life is all about your physical beauty, your economic class, and your arm candy. Kind of a cheap shot, dude, and a bit presumptuous. Happiness in life is about things greater than this -- cosmic things -- but small-minded folks like to get caught up on shallow things. In the end, we as individuals are responsible for our happiness. Keep your eyes on the prize, friend. Edit: just wanted to point out that no, I have no idea wtf "arm candy" is but it sounded appropriate. |

[ QUOTE ] WRT to the money grubbing gold digging whatever women, I think you guys will find that the more successful a woman is in her professional life the less she cares about your financial position. [/ QUOTE ] Women don't date down. I've worked in corporate America for years and I've never meet a professional women that would consider a relationship with a man who was much down the success/money ladder from her. [/ QUOTE ] I can't speak to marriage but I know for a fact that it is very easy to bang women above your pay scale. |

Re: Dating: If you\'re short, you better make $$$$$$$
short guys,
Height is negatively correlated with life expectancy. So all those tall guys getting laid like rock stars will probably die around 70, whereas you'll still have a good 5-10 years left to screw their wives. Cheers |

[ QUOTE ]
I know that tons of women care about whether the guy they are with can take them out to a decent restaurant. [/ QUOTE ] and this is fine and ok I think. not much different than a girls caring about a guy being in shape, or being witty or being nice, etc etc. as someone said above, it's a stigma to talk about "having money" as an attractive trait for someone to have, and I think that's weird. non sequiter: most girls are crazy. |

Re: Dating: If you\'re short, you better make $$$$$$$
Skunk,
Negro, please. That's a high minded and ultimately true sentiment, but there are two kinds of people in the world: 1) The kind that have to internalize those lessons through years of arduous self discovery, 2) The kind who can go their entire lives without ever needing to learn that at all, because life is awesome!!!!! I guess what I'm trying to say is, you severely underestimate the degree to which 'shallow' life advantages beget 'meaningful' life advantages; the same of course applies for disadvantages. |

Re: Dating: If you\'re short, you better make $$$$$$$
Cardo, before we turn this into an EDGD blowout, let me say that shallow life advantages are a double-edged sword. I've started to wonder what the advantages are of living in a rich, technologically-advanced society when our level of happiness does not improve commensurately. Rather than thinking of being rich/beautiful as being a leg up on being happy, I think that poor/ugly people dwell in their own misery -- exaggerating the awesomeness of being rich and beautiful, bemoaning their lack of fortune, and in general actively making themselves unhappy. There is a difference between the two, and it's not just looking at the same thing from two diff perspectives.
