what kills me is every session starts out bad, -1BI either one big pot or a few smallish-medium ones. i spend the rest of the time grinding it out and by the time i've broken even or come out just barely ahead, i dont feel like playing anymore. takes all the "win" out of playing.
i got fancy in a couple pots right at the start of the session, figuring villians for weak hands and raising only to be 3bet out of my seat. i never continued the hand but 2-3 times of that plus one AI PF against a shortie that was saying he was getting ready to quit for the night and im a BI down. i stacked two opponents with medium stacks after the fact yet im only up $1.65 for the day. how miserable. the good news is i opened up my opening range a little tonight, attempted at making the chips just chips and not money and it definately help me take down more blinds and steal a lot more pots. here is the jackdest hand of all. the shortie that took my chips. not a big pot but anger ensues. [ QUOTE ] what kills me is every session starts out bad, -1BI either one big pot or a few smallish-medium ones. [/ QUOTE ]Me too. I think my play is a bit gamblish early in sessions and I usually drop a buy in quickly or win fast. If the table sticks around I eventually am able to exploit the image to my advantage though. [/ QUOTE ] i dont feel that im being too gamblish early on, but perhaps i am. from my graph of today i lost practically every pot i played for the first 119 hands, made half my loss back at 120, breakeven for about 210 hands, stack another donk, then got busy at work and had to quit +$1.65. this months graph definately has more variance in it than last month. only 6k hands though so i dont want to post it since it really isnt a sample. i suppose im up 5 BI so im not doing horrible, but there are a lot of lost monies in there and if there werent as many, i'd be owning easy. i did find a hand that i thought was terrible. called a reraise by BTN in MP with JTo, flop comes 99T and i lead, CO calls, BTN folds, turn comes A and i think i check/call a smallish bet, river comes blank so i lead and somehow i end up AI against a halfy. he flips A9o. didnt know A9o was calling a RR preflop. i saw that hand in session review and vomited in my mouth a little. terrible terrible play for a $12 pot that would have put me up almost a BI instead of a dollar. we've died down so im thinking of playing again. maybe some limit to spice up life. |
