Re: Some Stuff About PUA (very long)
[ QUOTE ]
For the seven millionth time, we don't believe you? If you are so good at picking up girls, why can't you CONTRIBUTE anything to the subject? On any [censored] level at all. Honestly. I read the whole goddamn thread and I think you are a virgin, not that there's anything wrong with that. [/ QUOTE ] Well, you're retarded; not that there's anything wrong with that. Picking up girls, in the practical how-to sense, is not what prompted me to write the OP. I'm just gonna restate my original questions. 1) Take the theoretical, stereotypical PUA critic, sort of a mock-up of the stock criticisms. The guy who won't / can't pick up some random club girls on a regular basis, but at the same time justifies his unwillingness / inability to do so for moral reasons. If he can't pull it off anyway, is there any actual merit to his whole song-and-dance about 'I don't choose to behave that way,' or is it just a cop-out? Is there any actual merit, from a moral standpoint, in refusing to do something that one would likely not be able to pull off in the first place? 2) Assume the simplified version of the PUA universe-as-applied-to-women is valid: All Women Are Like This, This Is What They Want, Do This Or Become A Monk. (This assumption is kind of a stretch.) Suppose, furthermore, God Himself came down from Heaven, put His Finger in your face and said: My Son, PUA is Unlawful In My Sight. Your choices are to be 'bad' and bang MAWs, or be 'good' and live a lifetime of frustration and lowered expectations. Which do you choose? Why? Which is better? Why? |

Those aren't your original questions, especially not number 2.

Re: Some Stuff About PUA (very long)
There is nothing good or moral about giving up something you can't attain in the first place. Let's say I'm allergic to chocolate and then breathlessly announce that I'm going to give up chocolate for Lent, as if that's some sort of huge sacrifice. Same thing. 2 presupposes a known absolute moral authority, so going against that is of course morally wrong. If pussy is more important than avoiding eternal damnation, then go for it, but clearly it's immoral. There is no absolute moral authority irl though, so it's a pretty meaningless question when applied to daily life.

Can a pickup artist believe in God, in the standard, organized-religion sense?

Re: Some Stuff About PUA (very long)
"If PUA was, as one poster described it, merely about becoming a funny, unique, interesting person who commands attention, pushes boundaries and stands out, then I respectfully suggest that I should be teaching these courses. I am unquestionably all these things"
maybe you should be more of a critic of yourself. because I don't get this impression from your posts. |
