Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
Okajima has appeared in between 42-58 games in every year since 1999. After being used in 10 of the last 16 games, he's on pace for 87 games. He's looked good in every appearance, except in his 3rd consecutive game against the Yankees, but I really hope he isn't used tomorrow night. Friday off would be nice too.

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
i dont really mind them burning okajima out. he wasn't very good in japan, i think there's a pretty good chance he's not very good in september no matter what.

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
thayer i'm going to start banning outside my forum, i swear to god
gehrig: i think he'll be really tough the first time through the majors. maybe a bit longer. he seems like one of those guys who, once someone 'figures him out,' it will spread quickly. but i could be wrong. i still hate totally burning him out because i don't see who we have that's going to be better in september, other than donnelly |

It's already been established that you can ridiculously troll other team's threads with repetitive annoying ironic stupid crap.
Blame your own people. |

[/ QUOTE ] He was a good pitcher in Japan. There was nothing not to like in his numbers last year. He is no Denney Tomori. (5-18 in Japan from 1999-2004) Last year, Okajima posted a 2.14 ERA with a 10.37 K/9 and a 2.31 BB/9 for the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters. In his career he had 681 strikeouts to 295 walks in 642 innings with a 3.36 ERA. He apparently developed his forkball changeup last year and it allowed him to take a leap forward. Obviously his 10.2 IP 3 H 0 R 3 BB 17 K line since April 7th isn't sustainable, but it's the kind of dominance that even in a small sample size shows he's no fluke. We have control of him for his age 31-36 seasons, so being a little careful with him seems prudent. Interesting note, he appeared in all five wins against the Yankees, and they're the only team with a hit off of him during this stretch. |

[/ QUOTE ] who's doing it? i'll ban them too. i don't want this crap in my thread. red sox fans: leave the yankee thread alone. whatever happened to the old 'bump this thread every time the yankees lose' thing? you can troll them there, and all the yankee fans will still read it out of morbidity. |

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
Whenever A-Rod had a good game Joe Tall would post in the Yankees thread with ironic crap like "lol go Mr April go!". Since then I have posted stupid crap in this thread as retaliation. If you look at my posts in this thread pre Joe Tall-retardedness, they have been fine.
