Trying to do all your poker stuff and ripping a CD is probably going to swamp any computer out to the general public.

Party runs fine, whether the machine is swamped or not. I'm ripping a CD right now, playing 2 tables, running PT, PAHUD, and other stuff. No software lag from Party. WPEX would be crippled.

Party is coded to be an extremely greedy program, it will get cycles when it needs them, practically no matter what else is going on. WPEX would do well to emulate that kind of performance.

I don't have a super-powerful computer but WPEX runs just fine and dandy for me.
Not sure why it's different for so many of you.
I'm not playing on Party though. Usually at least a couple other tables on Stars which has never been a problem for me.
Auto-request e-mailed HH's via PT (which sometimes come, sometimes don't) and GT+.

I also don't see too many of my opponents getting disconnected in too many hands (every once in awhile, but not too frequently) but I am 3-tabling there and playing a couple tables elsewhere so it's possible I'm just missing it.

I understand the frustrations though. It was a similar lag and resource-hog issue on my computer that prompted me to give up Absolute.

hello WSEX GM thank you for making a pressence here on 2+2.
I haven't got a chance to read the whole thread but I'm curious as to what measures WSEX are taking against bots. Since WSEX is not making any profit from WPEX I can't imagine a lot of time and money is spent on bot detection there. This is probably the main reason I'm not playing on the site although I do imagine that I will be eventually.

Also, I'm curious how is rakeback calculated? Is it the contributed rake method or a similar system like party's?
Thanks.

right now it's the dealt-hand method (although some of their support must have been misinformed and will tell you otherwise).

There have also been some statements from apparently more knowledgeable support that they may change it to a contributed-method in the future.
But it remains a dealt-hand method for now.

WSEX GM - Any plans to update hardward / network? If I try to 3 table (unforunately the max on your site) I can hardly stay connected to the site. Its going to be hard to attact new players when you can't stay connected to the site

bottom line.. connectivity is horrible

Hello all,

New FAQ's are up on the site today. Here is a direct link:

http://www.worldpokerexchange.com/contact.asp?ID=2

They should address the rake questions and others.

As for the connectivity and disconnects, we are constantly working on improving connectivity, however it does seem that it has becomes much less of a problem since the last release. But we'll keep on it.
