This vote is to recommit the bill to the Judicial Committee. When this fails, they'll finally be the real vote.

Final vote on passage hasn't occurred - Appears quite likely that when it occurs in 10-15 minutes that it will pass by 300+ to 100ish

Not yet.

They are currently voting to recommit the bill back to committee.

Then, they will vote on HR 4411.

The process does take time...

Not particularly. House passage has been expected all along.

what committe in the senate would get this issue? Who chairs it? That will go a long way in deciding how it will go.

Okay, so now that it seems like it's going to clear the House what are the odds that it clears the Senate?

[/ QUOTE ]It will most likely pass the House. I have no clear indicator as to how it is shaping up in the Senate. If I had to make an educated guess, I'd say it will not be voted on this session.

did it officially pass or what

[/ QUOTE ]

No, this is the last preliminary vote to send the bill back to committe (good for us).
It will be easily defeated and they'll prob vote on the unedited full bill (the big vote) in around 25 mins.

No need to check back here, it will pass resoundingly (bad for us), and then be sent on to the Senate, and that will REALLY be the big one.

The exemptions for horse racing/lotteries are still in there. The Berkley/Conyers amendment was to remove those exemptions.

It would be wise to remember that the us house tried to impeach pres clinton. I really am not worried about this because I would lay 5 to 1 that this fails in the senate in its current form. Reid has a lot more power than the minority leader in the house.
