I don't understand what kinda answers you're going to get on this trip anyways. Most likely whoever goes down there are going to get broken kneecaps by some shady Costaricans.

Nat - I really hope the conspirtards didn't influence you this way... I feel like your second point is more valid.

[/ QUOTE ]
I feel his first point is more valid, or at least equally so, specifically the part where he said "Most people don't know me." That's really the crux of the problem.

What could possibly come from this visit, other than a +EV for Absolute? The OP says he will not report any of his findings until paid by AP. How dubious does that sound? This is not to doubt Nat’s intentions-clearly he was instrumental in exposing this outrageous incident.
Don’t we all know enough about this affair? Shouldn’t the next action be to boycott this site completely, UB as well? The lack of regulation in online poker exposes players to an unacceptable level of risk-we cannot afford to give a second chances to charlatans who abuse this trust.
Going forward the focus should be on the two remaining players in the US, PokerStars, and FullTilt. Who owns them? Etc. Personally I am writing a letter to my congressman/Senator that has a very negative slant toward online poker in general. I filed an on-line complaint with the FBI. As primarily a B&M player, I have noticed a larger gap between these two worlds emerging in the last couple of years (at least in the Chicago area). I don’t think this type of incident will give online poker what it needs most-the fishy B&M middle limit type player who makes our games playable.

It doesnt matter either way.

Anyone thinking that he has been invited down there WITHOUT them having a clear cut plan on how to get nothing but a good report is naive.

Yea if money isn't an issue either

a) donate it all to charity
b) give it to people who lost to the cheaters

[/ QUOTE ]
I was planning on giving away part of it. But I am putting off a number of business deals because of this whole thing and the trip would probably push everything of mine back at least three weeks. I won't do that for free. But anyone else who is suitable (such as Adanthar) can definitely take my place if AP and the replacement agrees. Then I can get back to working on my businesses that I run.

[/ QUOTE ]
I'd be happy to go if you don't want to, and I'm very much qualified for such work.

Hi brain:

Don't get me wrong. We wish Nat success, but it's very important at this point in time that there be no confusion as to who represents who and what is being done.

Best wishes,
Mason

[/ QUOTE ]

Mason-

It's up to the posters of 2 plus 2 to determine who represents them. Don't you think?

I appreciate the business sense of you making it clear that Nat does not represent 2 plus 2 publishing, but the independent people that post on 2 plus 2 can be represented by whomever we choose.

i would think that having absolute pay for your travel and all expenses, but not paying you a fee would have been best for alll parties - for someone who is making his livelihood in the poker world, your international credibility as "the guy who straightened out absolute poker" would be far more valuable to you business wise than nearly anything else you could accomplish during that week.
