Okay, the new Sunset Rubdown is terrible but I hated the first one too.

The new Animal Collective is very very good, and I didn't like any of their previous albums.

I think this year is gonna have a top 10 of:

Of Montreal
Fiery Furnaces
Battles
LCD Soundsysyem
Architecture in Helsinki
Spoon
Animal Collective
New Pornographers
Arcade Fire
The Field
Menomena

Caveats: Don't particularly like The National or Frog Eyes.

new stars album has leaked!

... and it's terrible! Really really disappointed after how great set yourself on fire was.

I bought that album a few months ago and find it pretty damn bland, for the most part. I definitely don't get the hype. I like Ageless Beauty a lot, but I'm not sure there's another track on there that really sticks with me.

I haven't listened to Sunset Rubdown enough to have an opinion on it, but I think the new Animal Collective CD is my favorite of the year so far. I liked Feels a lot, but I think this one is even better. Of those on your list I haven't listened to Fiery Furnaces, Architecture in Helsinki or New Pornographers yet.

I liked the Panda Bear album better than Strawberry Jam.

I'd put Klaxons on that list somewhere too.

Pretty shocked to see this album in this thread, are you American Fedfan? Cuz I've met about 5 Americans who liek Dizzee and I've been searching for them since Boy in the Corner came out

I agree with SMD over Justice though, in that genre

Yeah, I'm american and have liked him since Boy In the Corner. I've introduced a few of my friends to him but usually they're just like "uhh, he's interesting." I think they just can't get past the difference between the dance-club rap filling the airwaves and the grime sound. While I don't like this new album quite as much as BITC, it's cool that I can put it on during a party and it won't seem out of place next to T.I. or ghostface or whatever while still having a distinct sound.

I don't listen to leaked stuff (except for Sunset Rubdown), but these are the albums I've listened to this year in order of preference:

Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
Panda Bear - Person Pitch
Deerhunter - Cryptograms
Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?
Menomena - Friend and Foe
Sunset Rubdown - Random Spirit Lover
Deerhoof - Friend Opportunity
Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
The Shins - Wincing the Night Away
