[ QUOTE ] If I was responsible for the fairness of the games, I'd ensure that the working build of the software server wouldn't release the HH-s to any database or memory without being encrypted or whatever necessary, before the hand is over. There shouldn't be ANY access in any way whatsoever to the HH-s before teh damn hand is OVER. By admins, god or even phil hellmuth. [/ QUOTE ]They are in server memory (as the server needs to know what the hole cards were) and they get sent over the wire to each participant. So if you get to the server or its network you can get the hole cards (it can be made difficult though). [/ QUOTE ] Ideaally all communication between the server and client should be encrypted across all network and internet connections. So if the network is compromised, they would also have to break that encryption. But it wouldn't surprise me if Absolute had some old, lame vulnerable encryption or something (I'm not an expert in that field). Is there anyone who's some kind of network security expert that can look at the raw communication between the Absolute client and server? Or possibly someone on the inside hacked into the piece of the program that sends hole cards to players, or that compiles the site HHs to be saved, the ones that show all hole cards. Then this little hack piece could be saving the info in a file the hackers can read, or broadcasting it out somewhere. As this did all seem to start after the last update, some kind of server-hack does seem like a strong possibility. To me the whole super-user account thing seems less likely. For one thing it would be idiotic to even have such an account, EVEN for a dysfunctional company like Absolute. They probably had a vague idea of what they were doing when they started. If they did have such an account, it would have to come with all kinds of auditing and safeguards to prevent against this kind of thing. Then the inside person gave access to a few of his buddies to split the money with him. He may not have realized how stupid his buddies would get with it. And we know at least one of them has tried to cover his tracks by playing like a maniac and losing after this story broke. This tells me that it's not someone just trying to ruin Absolute out of spite. They want the money. (duh) |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I wonder if this is why Calvinhobbes got raped so bad after the BBJ win. [/ QUOTE ] No, he just sucked at poker and wasnt ready for high stakes. [/ QUOTE ] calvinhobbes was a high stakes reg before he won the bbj. He hit it at a 15/30 table i believe. I also don't think he got raped afterwards. He final tabled the $150k a week later. [/ QUOTE ] theres no bbj at 15/30... only 3/6 and below. At least thats how it used to be. As a high stakes reg, I wouldn't call him a high stacks reg |

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...10#Post11784145 [/ QUOTE ] Anyone not notice OP's name in that thread? LOL coincidences. [ QUOTE ] Thanks everyone! It needed more detail at Casinomeister I thought since so few are poker players there and they are even less likely to use and fully understand PT. There is one guy beyond the shill that doesn't seem to understand. It's probably pointless to try and explain it to them. [/ QUOTE ] After he explained that he thought PokerTracker was a cheating program, it was pretty clear that chances were 0 he'd be able to understand our statistical evidence. |

I think evidence is building that AP is not involved in this. If they were there is NO WAY in HELL they would come out with another superuser account among this controversy. AP's stance is clearly hoping this whole issue goes away.
