Re: OK, Here\'s The Truth
[ QUOTE ]
I think it is great of David to let everyone have their say, regardless of fairness, weirdness, etc. I have got to think everyone likes him more because of this thread. We have all been a mark for the women folk. [/ QUOTE ] QFT |

Re: OK, Here\'s The Truth
It sure didn't take long for Brandi and Sklansky to throw each other under the bus.

Re: OK, Here\'s The Truth
There's no chance that David didn't see Brandi for exactly who she was right off the bat. It's a simple application of Bayes Theorem. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, there's an extremely high probability it was a duck to begin with.

Re: OK, Here\'s The Truth
He knew, but I'm not sure he knew that he knew. You know?
There is a lot about David that he hides from himself, just to make it through the day. |

Re: OK, Here\'s The Truth
[ QUOTE ]
Let's not forget the possible role of genetics/biology in all this. After all, criminality, among other things, is highly heritable. It could be that in the course of human evolution, "natural" scammers have taken hold because their ancestors had sucessfully siphoned off resources from the unwitting (cuckold?) and used those resources for their own reproduction (with another scammer?). Perhaps what we're seeing in this case is that same primitive tendency, but manifested in the context of a modern economy (which has the ability to turn one man's misfortune into another's fame and consequent entertainment for the multitude....) Of course, that would be blaming the parents' genes. Plus, it's politically incorrect. So maybe it's just a innocent, environment-caused chemical imbalance in need of correction. BTW, I'm guessing bi-polar is in there somewhere. [/ QUOTE ] My Biosocial Crim prof would love you. I was actually going to suggest Judith Rich Harris' book "The Nurture Assumption" as a counter to what he posted but thought better of it. |
