hey where are the closest casinos to gainesville?

[/ QUOTE ]

Tampa and Jacksonville.............or drive a few extra minutes and go to Biloxi.

[/ QUOTE ]

I know Jasper is going to to be closer than Tampa. Not sure if it is closer than JAx but I would guess it is.

[/ QUOTE ]

Jasper is about an hour away. Jacksonville is a little further. It's two hours to Hard Rock in Tampa, add a half-hour for a track. Biloxi is 6 hours, I think. Ocala Jai-Alai is maybe 20 minutes away, popular with college kids looking for cheap beer, and is rumored to be in the process of opening a room.

oh yeah and for a progress update. looks like im one of the few that has lost so far. the variance in these games is crazy. i been playin at HR hollywood, first night -100 2nd +70 3rd -70. only 1 hand in about 15 hours of play where ive put the money in behind lol. usually get 5-6 limpers in every pot, if it gets raised pf u better fold unless u have aces. but wow i can not believe that there are ppl this bad, reminds me of party but WORSE. i cant imagine there are easier 100 buyin games in america than here in florida

Default Another classic Daytona Customer service response

Daytona finally started spreading am OH08 game but instead of a comfortable 2/4 or 2/5 spread, they went to a straight 2/5.
I played the first couple of weeks on the table and realized;
A: I really suck at the game I love to play. Losing $200-$300 in a 4 hour session.
B: Having a a real bad run of cards where everytime I had A2WX, the board would come 9 and above. And everyone else would scoop everytime they got that hand.
So....after talking to some other players having the same frustration and watching the game go from 2 solid tables per night to just barely getting the game going and then see it break at 9:00 every night, I talked to 1 of the supervisors and made the suggestion that they change it to a 2/4 or 2/5 spread limit. (Assuming she knows what that means).
her response:"It is only having trouble staying afloat because it is the end of the month" WTF, does she really thing that all the people playing Omaha08 are playing with their social security check? maybe the people playing .25c/.50c are(yes, they really spread this game!)
I don't have a regular $500-$1000 BR to withstand the variance of this game the way it is set up. So for now I will stay with my 1/2NL. u+ $800 in 4 sessions since making the transition.
Please staff that room with people that listens.

I can't speak for the West Coast of Florida..

Here's what I see on the SouthEast side..

Does anybody know who's getting the money here...

Nobody reads Mike Caro

The DEALERS...

I like dealers, I need dealers..

I tip $1 a hand min, even on 8-10 pots

Couple bucks on a hundred...

I watch these people win a $40 pot and tip $10..

WHAT ( they rake 10%, $5 max, 1 jackpot, )

I want them to all make money,
and I know they are rooting against me
when I'm in a big pot, because I'm
probably tipping $5 instead of GREENIE,

In the meantime I watch their back, never, ever
had a problem playing in AC,Vegas,Tunica,anywhere..

But these kids are spoiled..

My brother deals in AC at the Borgata,
hates the big room, pro guys don't tip

Still makes $300 a shift, $1 at a time

These kids are knocking down Gazillions,
and have the attitude to go with it

i tip one dollar on pots 50 or over. thats it. iam there to win. and the retards who tip such idiot amounts in low stake games cant win. and if dealers dont like the fact that i tip one dollar max well f... them. i would prefer a dealer to say something because then he or she would forever get tipped zero from me. i operate on a one strike policy. i also saw people at my florida poker room tip 10 dollars for pots like 60. wtf is that?

one time back when i was living in atlantic city in 2001, i split a 10000 dollar pot with another player in a 5-5 pot limit game at the trop and we both tipped one dollar.

Tampa Hardrock, 2/5 NL $100 buy in, people were nuts, all the shortstacks working hard to double up to have chips to work with. Play was mostly pretty poor, 10 hour session up $900. Would discuss more, but I just got back and I'm beat.
