My first couple posts were trollish, I'll admit. But the ones after that were honest questions---I don't follow wrestling forums or wrestling insider media, and I don't see much about WWE on ESPN or Sportsline.

I understand that you aren't trying to be trollish, but your last post wasn't an "honest question" at all. You admitted that you "couldn't stay away" and then proceeded to type something out which is completely irrelevant and totally ignorant to what reality is.

It's just kind of upsetting for those of us who are still in shock about all this.

OTB,

Everything you've said in this thread makes total sense, leave the wrestling fanboys to it.

Mikey,

Actually, it was an honest question. The WWE lives off of the suspension of disbelief. Nearly everyone knows that it isn't real, but goes along with it anyhow. How anyone has insight into someone's character that was so involved with this was an honest question. Of course, the WWE has an interest in portraying someone as a hero or a heel, depending on where the storyline is at the time. And I, for one, don't know know how you'd be able to discern between what the company line and the actual truth is.

Didn't read post but when I heard this I honestly thought murder suicide but couldn't for the life of me think that benoit would do it. Then I read it on the website and couldn't believe it. Can't wait for more information to come out. GG BENOIT.

If I understand your post in question and this explanation with it, am I to take it that you thought we were basing our opinion of Benoit based on his pro wrestling character?

As is clear in this thread, I'm not exactly a WWE fan. I kind of lost interest at about the Hulk Hogan/Ultimate Warrior (completely different subject) stage. What else could I assume that you might be basing these assumptions on? I wouldn't assume it was personal knowledge, so I assume it's something on par with celebrity gossip.

Well, internet dirtsheets/massive amounts of insider wrestling knowledge was discussed numerous times in the thread.

If you aren't a "WWE fan" I don't understand why you're in the thread to begin with.

I'm going to bed. Hopefully I'll wake up to modestly good news, but I'm not counting on it.
