[ QUOTE ]
This is a 10 team, keep 12 league. We are considering expansion to a 12th team this year, and may only keep 10 to make sure there is a player pool for the new teams, so who should I keep in both situations? It is a H2H league that scores on the following: R, HR, RBI, SB, K, FPCT, AVG, OPS, W, L, SV, HR, K, ERA, WHIP, K/BB. EDIT: Also, we do play a utility player as well as the standard field positions. Josh Barfield Eric Chavez Jose Guillen Aubrey Huff Jeff Kent Gary Matthews Jr. Magglio Ordonez David Ortiz Corey Patterson Scott Podsednik Ivan Rodriguez Mark Teahen Miguel Tejada B.J. Upton Armando Benitez Dave Bush Jose Contreras Freddy Garcia Dustin Hermanson Jason Isringhausen Cliff Lee Kevin Millwood Mark Mulder Brett Myers Joe Nelson Vicente Padilla Billy Wagner Barry Zito As you can probably see, my pitching staff killed me last year. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks [/ QUOTE ] Ok, had my draft last night, got drunk, woke up this morning and can't believe that I actually had this draft: the first 14 are my keepers, I traded my other keeper (Eric Chavez) for what I thought was the no. 5 overall pick in this draft. However there was a mistake in the order that had been posted on our message board, and instead it was no. 7. I didn't void the trade, however, as I've traded with this same guy a lot, and usually get the better of the deal, plus I thought that I would still be able to get Chris Young (the outfielder). I couldn't, as he went at no. 6. Here's my draft: 1. (2) Magglio Ordóñez OF 2. (19) Mark Teahen 3B 3. (22) Chris Young SP 4. (39) B.J. Upton 3B 5. (42) Miguel Tejada SS 6. (59) Josh Barfield 2B 7. (62) Corey Patterson OF 8. (79) David Ortiz 1B 9. (82) Dave Bush SP 10. (99) Freddy García SP 11. (102) Jason Isringhausen RP 12. (119) Brett Myers SP 13. (122) Billy Wagner RP 14. (139) Barry Zito SP 15. (142) José Contreras SP 16. (159) Chone Figgins 2B,3B,OF 17. (162) Michael Barrett C 18. (179) Pat Burrell OF 19. (182) Todd Helton 1B 20. (199) Salomón Torres RP 21. (202) John Patterson SP 22. (219) Ray Durham 2B 23. (222) Adrián Béltre 3B 24. (239) Gil Meche SP 25. (242) Zack Greinke RP I should note, that I had Greinke on my minor league roster (rosters were frozen last year before he got called up) and therefore I got to use my last pick on him (which works out because I can't think of someone to take with more upside in the 25th round. I took Gil Meche because I'm a lame homer, and he is the no.1 guy in the rotation, so I'm hoping that means something. That, and I can drop him if not. Berate away. God I suck at this game. EDIT: I had to edit in Chris Young (the pitcher) because I just realized that the commish didn't put him on there. EDIT: to erase double mention of Chris Young, which apparently got put up above. He was not a keeper, but my first pick in the draft. |

I have a tough choice in my 5X5 keeper league where we keep 8 plus two rookie extra keepers.
I kept: Miguel Tejada, Victor Martinez, Jason Giambi, Corey Patterson, Robinson Cano, Dan Uggla, Jose Contreras, Chien Ming Wang, Jeremy Sowers and Bobby Jenks. My needs are OF, 3B, SP, SP, CL. I'm assuming the guy with pick #1 will take D-Mats and that leaves me with the rest. Question #1: If the first pick is not D-Mats, should I take him? Question #2: Who should I take if he is taken #1. Here are the best players available in my league: SP: Aaron Harang Bronson Arroyo Curt Schilling Mike Mussina Randy Johnson Barry Zito Ervin Santana Tim Hudson Ted Lilly Ian Snell OF: Nick Swisher Raul Ibanez Jeff Francoeur Barry Bonds Eric Byrnes Ryan Freel Mike Cameron Joey Gathright Willy Taverez Scott Podsednik Kenny Loften Pat Burrell 3B: Troy Glaus Pedro Feliz Aubrey Huff Shea Hillenbrand Mike Lowell Hank Blaylock Melvin Mora CL: Todd Jones JJ Putz Joe Borowski Jonathan Papelbon Tom Gordon Bob Wickman Jason Isringhausan Akinori Otsuka Takashi Saito Mike Gonzalez Ryan Depster |

[ QUOTE ] i think you picked Adrian Beltre way way too high. [/ QUOTE ] He was unequivocally the best 3b left in the pool. [/ QUOTE ] exactly, look at sluss's draft he got adrian in the 15th round. i understand that you didnt pick a 3b in the beginning draft, and you should use that to your advantage, if everyone already picked a 3b that makes you relatively safe to wait. in another draft 12 teams i got him in the 14th round. edit: is this a keeper league b/c that would change everything? |

14 team keeper that I'm in with a bunch of the guys here (MEbenhoe, Thay3r, Jim Kuhn, etc). We keep 8:
I kept A-Rod, Pierre, Sheffield, Rolen, Lugo, and Konerko. I had a few keeper options left, none really on offense. For SP, I had Schilling, Harang, and Chris Young. For RP, I had Todd Jones, F. Cordero, and Lidge. I kept Cordero and Lidge. How bad did I screw up? -McGee |
