Re: ** WSOP ME, $10,000 NLHE, Day 3, Thur., July 12 **
I know it's easy to say when you're not in the situation, but...I can't imagine folding AA near the bubble unless I was so short stacked that I might get 2 callers (but still enough to make it around the table at least one more round).
It is $20,000+ though. |

I PM'ed NCAces because I didn't want it to become a thread discussing the merits of Mimi's shorthanded play, or my ability to judge her short-handed play, but it's all cool now.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] 4 from the bubble [ QUOTE ] Gus Hansen Likes the River John Duthie, Gus Hansen, Matthew Hilger, and the big blind all limped in and saw a flop of Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Duthie led out for 9,000, Hansen called, and the blinds folded. The turn was the T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Duthie checked, Hansen bet 13,000, and Duthie called. The river was the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Duthie bet 31,000 and after thinking it over for about 2 minutes, Hansen called. Duthie showed the for a pair of tens, while Hansen turned over A-8 for a pair of aces and took down the 116K pot. [/ QUOTE ] Sick, that is just SICK Edited to add: I think I would play too tight 4 from the bubble. Go Guss! [/ QUOTE ] Duthie's a good player. Assuming the hand's reported correctly, WTF was he thinking on the turn & river here? [/ QUOTE ] Rep the nut flush on the bubble, maybe get a low club to fold? [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] No wonder he is good, he makes his opponents believe and fear what we know is impossible. [/ QUOTE ] LOL. I thought this was the other hand where the dude RR-shoved his KK turned set on the river into QQ with the nut-flush. |

Only way I can see even thinking about folding AA is right on the bubble and you just lost with them on the previous hand to someone you barely out-chipped. |

In the Bay 101, a guy folded pocket Aces twice on the bubble and then got them a third time and called and won.
