Re: Official SSSH LC/NC Thread for October!

In terms of watchability, Serie A is at best 4th behind Spain/England and Germany. [/ QUOTE ] German football is easily the most boring of the bigger leagues, I'd take an Italian or French game over a German any day. |

Re: Official SSSH LC/NC Thread for October!
BTW if you're just looking for tons of goals, you'd be better off watching games from the Dutch league where defending is apparently non-existant, e.g. Heerenveen beat Heracles 9-0 last sunday...

Re: Official SSSH LC/NC Thread for October!
[ QUOTE ]
No, it's absolutely true. In terms of watchability, Serie A is at best 4th behind Spain/England and Germany. Maybe even Argentinian slips in. Too much diving, too much 'tactical' fouling, too much catenaccio. [/ QUOTE ] No one has played Catenaccio since 1965 or so when Inter lost vs Celtic in the EC final after leading 1-0 at the break and playing the second half with 7 defenders and ½ a striker. Seriously. The Catenaccio cliche is as overused as the "all they do is defend". Just watch Roma play in any given game. I really dont think Barca does much better than them from a entertainment pow I saw a statistical analysis a while back showing that they score more goals pr game in Serie A than in the Premier League. |

Re: Official SSSH LC/NC Thread for October!
guys look at my thread again
the [censored] AK river decision was just an elaborate ruse to show how awesome my bluff (as villain) was or how awesome I think it was anyways, tell me what you think. 'hero' made a pretty quick call with his AK and owned me of course |

Re: Official SSSH LC/NC Thread for October!
So wait, did I tell you the story, or was it yourface?
Anyway, I was, before becoming a pretty decent basketball player and elite level ultimate frisbee player (that sound you hear is my own horn being tooted, TYVM), I was a very good hockey player growing up. Played on all sorts of travel teams, including one that went to Yugoslavia, when there still was a Yugoslavia (now Croatia where we went...funny culinary experiences abounded, included me ordering a "homestyle" pizza, which turned out to be cheese with two eggs, sunny-side up, on top) Scotty was/is about one age bracket below me, but he was like, really good, so always played up. Anyway, summer league game, I'm coming down the left wing, he had covered for the defenseman who had pinched that I had just gotten by, so he's going backwards, and I'm moving pretty much full speed. I mishandle the puck slightly, and semi-look down. At that exact moment he stops and drills me with both glovers right under my chinstrap, sort of middle strenum. My upper body stops, perhaps even moves backwards. My feet continue moving forward rapidly, and describe an arc up into the air, until I'm pretty much perpendicular to the ice, except about five feet up in the air. Until I'm now long five feet up. Seeing as how my bruised tailbone made sitting uncomfortable for several weeks, I was no longer so enthused about hockey, and soon switched to hoops... |

Re: Official SSSH LC/NC Thread for October!
i am a joke 9-tabling 0.5/1 to clear a $650 bonus. all i can say is the games are so awesome. there are so many illogical plays, the tard factor really makes readless auto-piloting very easy.
