Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Thread: Reclaiming the NL East
Andruw's having a great year so far. He's on pace for 120 walks, which would shatter his career high. Yes, his BA and SLG are low, but he's getting on base more than ever and this could end up being his best year.
Also, there's no inherent value in consistency. Sure "streakiness" implies bad stretches, but with it come the 13 Home Runs in June in 2005. Andruw Jones is currently making $14m. That's a steal in today's market. |

[/ QUOTE ] Andruw at $14M is incredible value, but I really don't see him signing another contract with ATL under his market value. It's time for him to get his payday and he deserves it, but he'd be a poor choice to spend 1/4 of the Braves $80M payroll on IMO. |

I didn't realize he was getting so many walks, but I have doubts that keeps up if he starts flailing at the outside curveball again. |

Re: 2007 Atlanta Braves Thread: Reclaiming the NL East
Soriano just popped 100 on the gun.
Consistently at 97-98. Meanwhile, HoRam gave up 7 runs in 4 innings last night. Good times. Yay shutout! |

Seemed like a very good crowd tonight and lots of hustle plays from Andruw, Willie C, and Pete Orr to go with Smoltz's pitching kept them cheering. Nice to see.
