i hate it when people title a post "NL100" "NL50" "NL200" or whatever and here is why:

1. this is the no limit forum. there is no need to tell us that your hand was a no limit hand. WTF?

Ugh. It does matter and it took us forever to start getting everybody to label their posts properly.

Here comes a big shocker: Not every level plays the same. 2NL does not play like 400NL. That's right. I said it.

So going into a thread, the reader should have a general idea of the players involved in the hand and this does just that.

2. referring to a limit by the maximum buy-in is silly.
-it is not traditionally done that way.
-it only began for micro limits so they would not
have to be called .01/.02.
-on full tilt there are games where the max buy-in
is 200bb. referring to a 1/2 game as NL400 is
confusing.

IMO it is much easier to refer to the game by maximum buy-in. Consider:

1. We pretty much all buy-in for the maximum.
2. Going from the numbers to find the dash mark and then back to the numbers on the keyboard is annoying.

3. a better way exists ".5/1" "1/2" "2/4" and it takes
up less space.

Huh? This is just plain wrong.

How does .5/1NL take up less space than 100NL? Is this one a joke or something?

Yeah, that's probably best. It's just that it's a tough game and some social aspect is needed. I'd never discuss hands or hand advice or poker theory, but to discuss with somebody how many hands a month we each play and if we plan to move up/down is something I do sometimes.

[/ QUOTE ]

Is your name insaneaces? Some guy by that screen name was berating a fish at 25NL last night for playing with $75 in his bankroll.

[/ QUOTE ]I never berate fish. And I haven't played NL25 since I moved up from there this... hmm... February? I also haven't played FR cash in ages.

So I kinda doubt it's me. Nice try at guessing though.

[/ QUOTE ]

LOL, why so offended then? Why post in this forum if you don't play FR cash? I didn't really think it was you, was just more pissed at that guy and wanted to post it somewhere. I've moved up too, I had to liquidate for my sisters wedding so, I'm rebuilding. August was my first full month of FR cash.

Nice report.

Looked like you guys had a lot of fun. I love traveling.

Tables have been weird this week. Either tough as hell or easy as a convent girl.

If today is like last Friday, hard before 3pm, then a little better, then easy as hell from 6pm onwards.

Yeah thats him. Seemed like a nice guy in chat.
His stats weren't the greatest either, so I don't think he was too serious about it. But he did say he was trying to build his online roll.

[/ QUOTE ]
I heard he has most of his ME winnings in investments. Seems like a smart guy. Doesn't let his ego get in the way and play nosebleed stakes because of a big tourney score.

This might not be a very good idea given that everyone is already doing it the other way:
