Slowrolling makes you an idiot. I like to laugh to myself if they do this: "so he needed that long to call with that hand?" If it happened to me, I would actually say it sometimes and act like I don't know about slowroll kind of thing and say he is a nit. Then the other guy would go on defensive. But I guess I just wouldn't care.

Slowrolling is the stupiest thing you could ever do.

imo if u playing against someone that has been talking trash all along the game it feels good to slowroll . and its very likely that its not only my opnion

Common situation in a live game.

Flop is like 359. Someone shoves all in, someone else takes a few seconds waaaaay too long to think and "agony calls," because he is usually trying to get an over-caller.

The aggressor proudly shows QQ.

Turn: 6
River: Q

The caller gets mad and shows his 33 before slamming it into the muck. For those not in the know, you don't have to flip up your hand in a cash game.

Someone is bound to say it:"That's what you get for slow-rolling."

A few times, I've had opponents take most of their time to make a very easy, obvious call.

Every time it happens, I type:

'LOL. You had to think that long about calling with that hand?'

It didn't occur to me until just now that they were probably trying to slowroll me. And if that's what they were trying to do, then I'm laughing even harder now than I was at the time. (and that chat LOL really is accompanied by an out-loud laugh of pure amusement). I guess that puts me in Vinetou's camp, thinking that slowrolling is silly. Unless maybe you say it before you do it. Even then it still seems a little bit stupid though.

And to be perfectly honest, I agree that an insta-call is much more likely to tilt any opponent who can be tilted by these sorts of things. Especially if it's an insta-call that looks very marginal, but really isn't, because you were just *that* sure you were ahead. In fact, I'm pretty sure I tilted somebody a few days ago by insta-calling a pretty big bet on the end with the 6 on a four flush board. I decided what I was going to do while he was deciding whether to bluff with his two pair or straight or whatever it was, and he totally went off on me after I called.
