They really need to stop bringing in all these new scrubs keep the top guys and change the rules around a bit. They probably won't, and Im not sure if some of it has to do with the gaming regulations or w/e.

This is my main gripe with UFC. Dana works too hard to protect his fighters instead of bringing in actual talent so the U.S. can see a real match. The problem in the US is that Pride FC was not available until recently. Most people in the US still don't know who Fedor Emilianenko is nor did they hear of CroCop until he came to UFC.

I also think Dana is going to screw up Pride. Remember that a lot of UFC's older fighters from '99 - '02 moved to Pride after Zuffa bought UFC and Dana became president. I doubt they're coming back, they'll just move to K-1 or form another league.

On another note about kicks & knees to downed opponents. These are actually regulated by the states in which UFC and similar events take place. The sports commissions determined that if UFC wanted to get outside of Vegas, they needed to protect the fighters more.

Ok, time to bump this isht.

Some thoughts on the Pride/UFC debate:

Arguing over which side is 'better' is pointless, at least as far as the fighters go. No one org. had all the greatest fighters.

There are some things as far as rules that the UFC does better, and that Pride does better. In no particular order,

Cage/Octagon >>>> Ring. No question.

Kicks to the head on the ground are vital, and I am mad The UFC doesn't have them. Pride was better in this regard.

The 10 minute first round was pretty damn cool. Made cardio more important.

Yellow cards, I like. Take off money or points for passivity. The point is to see who is a better fighter, not whether or not you can stand up and dodge, or lay and pray.

The UFC is better as far as organization. Whether you like Dana White or not, he has done an absolutely brilliant job bringing MMA into the limelight. The UFC is organized, it is well-thought out, it markets itself superbly, and in general is better in organization. People lob vauge insult at Dana a lot but the UFC has done sososososososososo much for the sport of MMA.

I have been watching hours and hours of fights the past week. I think fedor is so [censored] sick and has no real weakness but he cuts really easily. What do you think Danny O?

Why do you think Cage >>> Ring? I completely disagree.
