Nothing like seeing the range of emotions of 25,000 Mets fans turn from absolute glee after the back-to-back to horror after Burrell's bomb.

There was almost 45k people at Shea last night. Anyway. As a Mets fan here was my range of emotions last night:

(Phillies Fans think they will sweep..LOL!)
(Doh!...me realizing Hamels was pitching)
(Maine pitching well)
(Phillies score)
(Phillies score again)
(Delgado Home Run)
(Wright Home Run)
(wait...it's not a Home Run?)
(Nope...it is a Home Run)
(Bwahahaha..Manuel ejectowned)
(Then I realize he probably did his own team a favor by being ejected)
(Lo Duca Home Run)
(Enter Sandman)
(Burrell Home Run...wtf! [censored] [censored] [censored])
(I see Schoeneweis warming up...no Willie...No!!!)
(Schoeneweis actually comes into the game)
(Schoeneweis doesn't let me down. Phillies score x 3)

And I don't think they have an emoticon on this site to show what I was feeling after that.

Good series Phillies. Hopefully we can return the favor at the end of the month.

Yep, but nearly half left before the 9th to beat traffic. Never understand why people do that (not just at Shea, obviously, but everywhere).

well...so they can beat the traffic.

I always stay until the last out/minute. The wait to get out of a stadium is never really too bad IMO and if I'm really not in a hurry, I'll hang out in my seat to beat the traffic.

Right, but what is their motivation for beating traffic? Why go a game to begin with if you're going to leave in the top of the 9th of a 3-2 game? It's like leaving 10 minutes before the end of a movie. They might as well stay home and watch the game on TV. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy when it clears out because it means (1) only the true fans are still there and (2) I'll have an easier time getting out when the game is over. I'll never understand it, though.

Yeah, I'll always stay to the end. Especially if its a close game heading into the 9th inning. But there could be lots of reasons for leaving early I guess. School is still in session so if you have kids you might leave early. Maybe a really early business meeting. Who knows...

It's New York too. Not all Mets fans live 20 minutes away in Queens. A lot are coming in from LI, Manhattan, New Jersey, Connecticut.

I hear ya, but why come to a Thursday night game then? Choose a Friday-Sunday game so you don't have to worry about rushing home.

True. I'm not really disagreeing with you as I have much the same thinking when I go to games. Just playing devil's advocate...
