My friend wears his short sleeved polos buttoned all the way up. Seen a few golfers do this as well. Looks odd to me. Is this common?

[/ QUOTE ]

More common than it should be. However, I think it can look pretty bad ass if it's Tiger Woods.

[/ QUOTE ]

Otherwise, no.

[/ QUOTE ]

Depends radically on the polo, and kinda yeah, you're going to have to have Tiger shoulders to pull this off.

[/ QUOTE ]

I have those shoulders, for the record.

Dids those are excellent numbered rules-of-thumb.

of course she has a reason to lie to you. she doesn't want to come of as a shallow snob to you.

you can't really be this clueless can you?

[/ QUOTE ]

I congradulate you on your ability to know more about the people around me and their motivations than I do!

Can you speak to your personal experience with frats, or is all of this from bad 80s movies?

Blarg,

I'm still waiting for you to show me all those posts where I lied!!

[/ QUOTE ]

At my University (Cornell) there were a couple of frats where you had to be rich to get into. I honestly can't remember there names. There were a couple of others seperated by certain sports (football), and by religion (mostly Jewish, one of which was tough to get in). I honestly didn't mind the frat guys but I knew some that fit the stereotype "Revenge of the Nerds Athletic" frat guy.

[/ QUOTE ]

I knew some friends that went to Cornell...they seemed to have some "un-frat-like" frat houses. I mean, my HS friends & I did some things while visiting that I think would've gotten our asses kicked at most frats.

here's a question. how many people are going to stop wearing somethign because of this thread? i'm thinking hardly any.

[/ QUOTE ]

I cannot say that I am going to change my style on a dime, but this was certainly the first time I have been told that jean shorts were a huge no-no. Perhaps this will motivate me to go buy more semi-decent clothing for a 22 year old chap. Unfortunately, then instead of jean shorts, I will have on khakis that are .somehow. stupid clothing too.

Solo, if you like the crispness of jean shorts, and aren't into the frayed baggy look of A&F cargo shorts or the ghettoness of athletic shorts, then go with flat khaki shorts like this from the Gap with one slim cargo pocket:

Whatever you do, please please burn and/or throw away every pair of jean shorts you own. They are just horrible.

(5) Pleated khakis with the cuffs up. Fine for nice slacks, terrible and very dated on regular, less formal khakis.

[/ QUOTE ]
can someone post a picture of this? I'm no fashion expert I don't know what pleated/cuffs up are.
