villin is tricky and has been overbetting a few spots earlier where i didnt have much to call 2x river pot with. he isnt a total moron and has been abusing position well.

oh yah of course. I think the main reason I didnt was because that downie shortstacker sat down 2 hands earlier and I didnt notice. $3 was my standard c-bet with and without air before him.

Overall do you think my hand is transparent as a valuebetting hand? How about my river line? The diamond coming sucks so bad and almost makes me want to check but I'd feel sooooooo terrible and weak if I did.

yeah no way you can check that river. id bet bigger on all 3 streets, starting on the turn if shorty messed up your usual bet sizing.

i don't think your hand looks like an obv value bet since you 1/2ed the whole way. i lean towards betting bigger in spots like these vs above average opponents who can recognize obv value bets and are more likely to put you on nuts/air and make a hero call. if villain is tricky, small bets also run the risk of inducing a river c/r when you clearly can't stand one (but this is probably irrelevant vs most).
overall, i dont think the 2d is such a terrible card for you . the nature of the board makes most suited broadways and 4xdd hands unlikely, combined with the river check i think you have the best hand here an overwhelming amount of the time (river cr is an easy fold unless he's really good).
