I'm rather curious about the series of events leading up to the hostiles attack on Dharma when young Ben is in class.There first seems to be an earthquake that surprises the teacher,an explosision,gunfire then the alarm goes off.

What does(if anything thing) the earthquake have to do with the attack? Was it simply shaking from an explosion or somehting more sinister?

I had read the entire thread before I posted. Yes, it likely could be volcanic ash. The only speculation as to its use that I came across was the Hoodoo warding of evil spirits from Skeleton Key. I was trying to open up the discussion a little further.

Just to confirm that no one else has ever seen Jacob. It was stated at the start of the show. Some appear to have overlooked this.

Not really. In fact, all of this "strangeness" has been pretty cool to me. I love the unexplained smoke monster, and the others/hostiles/dharma.

In fact, I would say I'm one of the biggest Lost fanboys out there.

I simply didn't like this particular episode.
