Most of the time when I'm eating fast food it's with roommates and we just get it to go and bring it back to the apartment so we can drink/watch TV/play cards etc. If you're out with a bunch of people and you wanna go grab food and head somewhere else afterwards, there's no reason why you can't eat in the dining area.
