5 x 5 AL only keeper league. start 14 hitters (std + ci, mi, 2 extra of and 1 extra c), 9 pitchers. $260 salary cap.
i get 11 keepers. does doug mientkiewicz have any value at $1? his poor spring has me worried. if you get stuck without an active player at any position, not to mention 1b or ci, you are in serious trouble. also, what about: overbay $19 papi $37 todd jones $18 nathan $36 vazquez $12 meche $15 deadline is tonight. thanks. |

Re: ask me about fantasy baseball v.2007
ok, first auction draft complete. as I mentioned before, 15 team 7x5 league. I'm an expansion team, and this is a transition year from snake to auction. Every existing team kept 3 guys at an average salary of 25. I took my 3 favorite "left-overs" from everyone else, then we proceeded to do an auction draft. Next year I can keep any of my guys except "my keepers" of Dunn, Fielder, and Carpenter. Yearly inflation cost of $3.
phew. how did I do? Name Paid Position Name Paid Position Dunn, Adam (not eligible to be kept) 30 LF Peavy, Jake 28 SP Fielder, Prince (not eligible to be kept) 25 1B Carpenter, Chris (not eligible to be kept) 20 SP Glaus, Troy 19 3B Thomas, Frank 17 DH Hall, Bill 17 SS Young, Chris 16 CF Hamels, Cole 16 SP Giles, Brian 15 RF Teahen, Mark 11 3b Gagne, Eric 11 RP Victorino, Shane 7 OF Varitek, Jason 6 C Kemp, Matthew 6 CF Broxton, Jonathan 6 RP Tracy, Chad 5 3b Duke, Zach 5 SP Neshek, Patrick 4 Maddux, Greg 3 SP Johnson, Daniel 3 Farnsworth, Kyle 2 RP Burke, Chris 1 2B/OF Gorzelanny, Tom 1 SP Johnson, Kelly 1 UT |

Keeper league, I am keeping 12. Been offered Vernon and V.Mart for Utley. I am weak in the OF with only Beltran as my keeper, and I have Weeks behind Utley. Should I take the deal? [/ QUOTE ] unanswerable without number of teams and who else you're replacing on your keeper list with these new guys. i'm guessing the percentage play is to reject, but then i hate wells and vmart. |

okay so i got all ready to draft a kickass team and i overslept the draft this is what yahoo picked for me. 9 team league 6x6 added stats are L and OBP. [/ QUOTE ] generally you can't look at private leagues without being a member. it's worth a look to check the availability of this year's rookies (c. young, hart, gordon, bailey) who are buried in yahoo's rankings. i would target thomas or gonzalez, if you have a place to play one. pitching-wise, i'd target lilly, maddux, penny, or hudson, but igawa might have the most upside of them all. it depends on your risk tolerance. |

Anyone want to grade this drafted team? 10 team league, 6x6 roto style, start 6 pitchers, all spots + CI, MI, DH. 4th pick overall. 1. A-Rod, 3B 2. G. Sizemore, OF1 3. V. Martinez, C 4. A. Jones, OF2 5. J. Peavy, SP 6. B. Roberts, 2B 7. F. Hernandez, SP 8. D. Willis, SP 9. D. Young, OF3 10. C. Cordero, RP 11. T. Helton, 1B 12. C. Ray, RP 13. J. Peralta, SS 14. J. Francoeur, OF/DH 15. B. Arroyo, SP 16. C. Tracy, CI/3B 17. B. Crosby, MI/SS 18. A. Huff, Bench/1B 19. C. Crisp, Bench/OF 20. M. Prior, Bench/SP I am looking at 3-4 free agents to replace Prior assuming he flops again. I also could add E. Byrnes or M. Ensberg to replace C. Crisp. [/ QUOTE ] proper analysis requires knowing what the additional categories are. also it's significant whether transactions are weekly or daily because pitching spots are limited. vmart is a huge reach with the 24th pick, and i don't like willis or peralta. peavy is a good pick, francoeur is likely to be hurt by your sixth category. ray should regress but is a reasonable value in round 12. C+ overall. |

[/ QUOTE ] We agreed on a couple things Waiver 2: --empty-- for Brad Penny pending until Mar 27 Waiver 3: Francisco Liriano for Kei Igawa pending until Mar 27 For some reason Yahoo drafted me 3 catchers. I guess you find these 2 plays to be average/bad Waiver 1: Josh Willingham for Gary Matthews Jr. pending until Mar 27 Waiver 4: A.J. Pierzynski for Jacque Jones pending until Mar 27 also doing a trade Brian McCann & Chris Capuano for Tadahito Iguchi & Billy Wagner I like the trade because i dont need 2 stud catchers and i am not a fan of Capuano. I also felt i needed another closer and this fills that void. Iguchi is an upgrade to the 2b i have now and will allow me to cut Brandon Phillips and get someone else. p.s. those rookies you mentioned are taken |
