Place your ships:

In this game, each contestant will place one ship of length 2 (destroyer) and one ship of length 3 (battleship) onto a 7x7 grid.



Ships may only be placed horizontally or vertically in the grid.

PM's should be formatted as follows:

All ships for all players will be placed onto the same 7x7 grid for the battle.

The Battle:

In each round, the player will submit their shot via PM. If a player does not submit their shot, they do not get to take it. After the time limit has expired for the round, all hits will be stated in the game thread. Any sunk ships will also be reported. For example:

Any misses will not be reported to the thread.

Noone will receive PM's saying that they've hit or missed. To be sure that your shot is recorded, make sure to ask for read receipt when sending your PM. (I just don't want 18 PM's saying "Was B6 really a miss?")

Eliminations and ranking:

When all of a player's ships have been sunk, they are eliminated and may not take any more shots.

Players will be ranked according to the order in which they are eliminated. Players eliminated in the same round will share a place and the corresponding championship points.

Players will not receive championship points if they fail to place their ships onto the grid. Otherwise, they are guaranteed a place in the final standings for this round.

Metagaming:

You may post anything you want in the thread, including asking people to hit certain squares and trying to coordinate attacks. Nothing you say in the thread is binding. Only PM's to the moderator will count as legal actions. Moves cannot be proxied to anyone.

question: what is deadline for placing ships?

Good question:

The deadline for placing ships is Friday at 6 PM. Also, your first shot is due by Friday at 6 PM. So, we'll place our ships and take our first shots at the same time.

The second shot deadline will be Sunday at 6 PM.

Strategy:

I chose this game purposely as not only a good game, but also as a "bring down the leaders"

the goal here is to sink dmk's ships first, obviously.
It would behoove the bottom 3/4ths to work together with their shots
